The Sherwood Park Crusaders would like to announce that goaltender Tommy Nixon has committed to the Holy Cross Crusaders in the Atlantic Hockey Association of the NCAA Division I men’s hockey conference.
Tommy is currently in his second season with his hometown Sherwood Park Crusaders and he currently posts a 12-3-3 record with 3 shutouts this season. He is a Sherwood Park Kings alumni where he played Minor Midget AAA, Midget AA and Midget AAA before joining the Crusaders. Tommy also has been selected to be on Team Canada West for the last two years for which he participated in the World Junior A Challenge.
“We have seen Nixon’s game continually develop over the past two seasons as he is a student of the game and is focused on getting better every day,” said Crusaders GM/Head Coach Tim Fragle. “Tommy is an exceptional teammate and even better citizen, which speaks to his character. Tommy is very deserving of the opportunity with Holy Cross,” added Fragle.
The Crusaders organization would like to congratulate Tommy and his family on his recent commitment and wish him great success in his future endeavours.
