Crusaders Tyler Maltby Named Alberta Ford Dealers Player of the Month

The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for the final month of the AJHL regular season is Tyler Maltby of the Sherwood Park Crusaders.   The 19 year-old forward from Sherwood Park, AB scored 18 points (7G, 11A) in 10 games through February 2016.  Tyler is enjoying an active point streak of 7 games totaling 13 points.

Tyler Maltby was selected as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in three consecutive games during the month, a recognition he has received 13 times this season.   Maltby was also awarded as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for his performance during the week of February 1st – 7th, 2016.

Tyler scored the game winning OT goal over the #1 team in the AJHL Standings, the Spruce Grove Saints, on February 20th.  He then scored the game winner versus the Brooks Bandits, the #1 team in the Viterra AJHL South Division standings, on February 26th. 

The 2nd year Crusader is second in team scoring with 65 points (40G, 25A) and leads the AJHL with 40 goals.  His point per game average in the 2015-2016 regular season is 1.3 PPG.

Tyler Maltby has committed to Arizona State University of the NCAA.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to partner with the Alberta Ford Dealers Association and will recognize the AJHL Player of the Month throughout the regular season.  The AJHL and Ford have also introduced the Alberta Ford Dealers Goalie of the Week Award for the 2015-2016 season.
