The Sherwood Park Crusaders will play beyond the opening round of the Alberta Junior Hockey League playoffs for the first time in three years.
The Crusaders beat the Bonnyville Pontiacs 5-1 on Saturday night at Sherwood Park Arena to win the best-of-five opening-round playoff series 3-2.
Sherwood Park advances to the North Division semifinals against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. The series starts Wednesday at Fort McMurray.
