Quotes:
“We’re used to being down, honestly every game in playoffs we were pretty much down, but we’re always confident we can get the win, and we did tonight. Me and [Gavin] Schmidt have been playing together for a while and we understand what we do together and it worked out today. [Matthew Paszkiewicz] is another great guy on our line, he does the gritty work that Schmidt doesn’t always do, so it’s good to have him. Luc Trevors hopped in a couple of times on our line – he’s fast and he made that great pass to Schmidt for the game-tying goal.”
- Calgary Canucks forward Hayden Fechner
“I’m extremely proud. This was a special group to coach; they are great young men who have bright futures away from the game, which is most important. Going in, we told them to lean into heart. We knew it was going to be a hard environment to play, we’re playing a great team and every man in that room leaned into heart, we were just one bounce away. This tournament created a lot of great memories for us, so there’s nothing to hang our heads about. This tournament was extremely successful for us. At the end of the day, Calgary was in this spot last year, they lost in the semifinals, they’re playing in the final tomorrow and we’ll be in the final next year.”
- Rockland Nationals head coach Justin Pereira

Quotes:
“The group of guys we have in this room, it’s a brotherhood and everyone always says that in hockey. This one stings; I’m 20 years old and it hurts for sure, but I’m proud of every single guy in that room. We get two wins and two losses and other teams have the same record, but in a tournament like this, one goes on and one is done. It is bittersweet and it sucks, but I’m really proud of everybody. We can’t get away from what we did tonight; it’s a special group and it showed. The Blizzard are a strong team, almost first in the pool, and we took it to them. Everyone’s a champion here, it’s a hard tournament and it’s definitely bittersweet.”
- Grande Prairie Storm forward Carter Streek

Quotes:
“Obviously we have been struggling with our starts and we haven’t been scoring the first goal, but to rebound like we did was huge for us. I thought they gave us their zone often, so to gain the zone and using our speed to make plays off the rush was big for us today.”
- Calgary Canucks forward Jack Plandowski

Quotes:
“I think yesterday we didn’t play our best and that kind of leaked into our game today. I just don’t think we came to the rink prepared and obviously that’s what we want to focus on next game. I wouldn’t say we didn’t try, but we kind of gave up after a few of the goals. This is a national championship and after a game like this we just have to leave it in the past, switch the channel and we’re on to the next one.”
- Calgary Canucks forward Rhys Jamieson
“I think there were times during this game where we weren’t our best. Even when we were up two goals, I thought we had done some good things. They made it 2-1, we kept our composure and were able to find the third goal, played solid and got our confidence back. I also think in our first game we expended a lot of energy after not having played in over two weeks, but we were more tired this game even after that extended break. I’m hoping that with the day off tomorrow we recharge the batteries and are fresh for Tuesday against Trenton.
- Grande Prairie Storm head coach Chris Schmidt

Quotes:
“We were a little sleepy at first and I think once we got our heads in the game, we were able to execute better and put some pucks in the net. As the game went on, the team found a way to make some nice plays. We don’t want to give up as much, but we’ll take the goals for sure. Our turnovers and puck management [needs to be better] because we gave up too many odd-man rushes. These games can be a little weird at times, so we’ll take it with the way it ended up, but going into tomorrow we want to be a lot cleaner on the defensive side.”
- Calgary Canucks head coach Brad Moran

Quotes:
“We stayed level-headed today compared to our first game last year (a 10-2 loss to Collingwood). Whether we were up or they came back and tied the hockey game, we just stayed the course and playing a Game 7 in order to get here helped out in that. Props to our leadership group, our coaching staff or anyone else on the bench, they didn’t allow anyone to get too high or too low and last year’s experience had a lot to do with that.”
- Greater Sudbury head coach Darryl Moxam

Quotes:
“The week-and-a-half we had off I think threw us off a little bit. The first five minutes we were chasing the game, but we got our legs under us and we started playing our game. [Lukas Renaud] has been our quarterback all year long. He doesn’t get enough credit, but super happy for him today and how he played. He’s been a brick wall and we don’t win games without him.”
- Bowden Singleton, Calgary Canucks captain
