Daoust (2006) record two four-point games starting with two goals and two assists in an 8-0 win over the visiting Olds Grizzlys on January 2nd, including his fifth game winning goal of the season. The next night, he earned the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game award with four assists in a 6-3 final against the Calgary Canucks.
Cohen Daoust (St Albert, AB) is fifth in the AJHL Scoring Race with 46 points (20G, 26A) through 26 games in his third season with the Eagles. He recently signed a WHL Scholarship Agreement with the Calgary Hitmen.
Eagles teammate Alexander Scheiwiller is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with a 2-0 record and a shutout to start 2026. The veteran goaltender has wins in his last three starts.
Scheiwiller (2005) recorded his first shutout of the season on January 2nd with 32 saves versus the Grizzlys and was rewarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Week. He made 31 saves the following night and posted a 6-3 win over the visiting Canucks.
Alexander Scheiwiller (Calgary, AB) was previously named as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for November 17th-23rd, 2025. He is tied for third among AJHL goaltenders with a .917 save percentage.
The Eagles are tied for second place in the Bunge AJHL South Division and have started 2026 on a four-game winning streak.
The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is 17-year-old forward Brayden Ryan-MacKay. The Drumheller Dragons rookie scored three goals and an assist in the opening games of 2026.
Brayden Ryan-MacKay (Calgary, AB) scored a goal on January 3rd in a 5-1 road win versus the Drayton Valley Thunder. He then recorded a season-high three-point game on January 4th with two goals and an assist in a 6-2 road win in Olds, including the game winning goal.
MacKay recently represented the AJHL as a member of Team Canada West at the 2025 Junior A World Challenge. He is a draft selection of the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL and has played five regular season games with the Club this season.
