Division Finals Resume Monday Night – Game Three Preview

Brooks @ Drumheller (Dragons lead 2-0)

Nobody could predict that the Drumheller Dragons would be returning home in the South Final with a two games to none lead on the two time defending AJHL champion Brooks Bandits, but they are.

What’s even more shocking is the fact the Dragons have not trailed in either game.

The question for the Bandits is how are they going to get back into the series?

The Dragons are a perfect 5-0 on home ice, and Devin Buffalo has been nothing short of outstanding in goal, frustrating the Bandits shooters.

The Bandits are going to have to do a better job on the power play, after going 0 for 8 in the first two games.
For the Dragons they just have to keep playing their game.

Game three goes Monday night, while game four will be Tuesday night.

Both games start at 7:00.

Spruce Grove @Fort McMurray (Oil Barons lead 2-0)

The friendly confines of the Grant Fuhr arena has been anything but for the Spruce Grove Saints this post season as they head to Fort McMurray down two games to none.

In all reality, this series should be tied at one after the Saints dominated game two and had a 2-0 lead but couldn’t hang on and lost 3-2 in overtime.

Now the Saints hit the road to Fort McMurray, where the Casman Center hasn’t been exactly friendly to the Oil Barons in the post season.

Fort McMurray is 4-2 on home ice in the playoffs.

Spruce Grove has been very comfortable on the road in the post season, going 3-0 in the North Semi Finals.

If the Saints want to ensure that there will be another game in Spruce Grove this season, then they will have to do something they were unable to do during the regular season, and that is beat the Fort McMurray Oil Barons at the Casman Center.

For the Oil Barons they will need to ride the momentum from games one and two, but also control the emotional high they will get from the home town crowd.

Game three goes Monday night, while game four will be Tuesday night.

Both games start at 8:00.
