The Alberta Junior Hockey League is encouraging all Albertans to donate to the Red Cross in support of the AJHL community of Fort McMurray. The devastation and tragedy of the fires have forever changed the city, and significant support will be needed to help residents rebuild their lives.
Our thoughts are especially with members of the Oil Barons staff and their families as well as our players residing in Fort McMurray
The federal government will match all private donations made to the Red Cross to help the thousands of people who have been displaced by the wildfires in the Fort McMurray area.
The AJHL, Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta are currently in discussions on the creation of a joint fundraising initiative.
