Dotan Headed to Simon Fraser

The Spruce Grove Saints are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenseman David Dotan has committed to Simon Fraser University for the 2011-2012 season. David Joined the Saints during the 2010-2011 season and helped the team to an Enerflex Cup Championship.

Before coming to the Saints David spent time in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders and the Burnaby Express of the BCHL. David will join the Clan in the 2011-2012 season where he will pursue a degree in Business Administration. Dotan is the 12th player from the 2010-2011 Saints roster to commit to a post secondary institution.

“It feels great to begin a new chapter in my life moving to University where I will learn to manage my schooling as well as hockey,” exclaims Dotan. “I am getting the chance to play at a high level of hockey while attending a program that I am very interested in. It is an exciting new step for me. I would like to thank my family for pushing me in school and all of my former coaches for developing my hockey knowledge and skills.”

“We were fortunate to bring David in at the trade deadline last season,” says Saints Head Coach & General Manager Jason McKee. “He solidified our defence core adding depth and experience. David is a very mature young man and is very deserving of his opportunity to continue his education and hockey endeavours.”
