The Penticton Vees have won the opening two games of the 2012 Doyle Cup. The series will now shift to Penticton, BC for the remainder of the best of seven series.
The Vees captured Game One with a dominating 7-2 victory on Friday, and slid by the Bandits with a 1-0 shutout in Game Two on Saturday.
Wade Murphy’s powerplay goal 5:47 into the first period was all the offence the Penticton Vees needed. The Vees held on for a 1-0 win over the Brooks Bandits to take a 2-0 series lead in the Doyle Cup. Vees No.1 stopper Michael Garteig made his playoff debut in the victory tonight turning aside all 43 shots faced.
