Dragons Looking to Advance, Saints and Cru Meet in Crucial Game 5

The Drumheller Dragons can join the Brooks Bandits in the South finals with a win tonight, but not if the Canmore Eagles have anything to say about it.

In all reality this series should be tied at 2-2 as the Canmore Eagles dictated game four but the Dragons were resilient and used the home crowd to help them to an overtime win.

The key to this game may be who scores first as the team that has scored first has won all four games in the series.

Canmore is 3-0 in the post season when scoring first while Drumheller is 6-0.

In both games three and four Christopher Rauckman scored before the game was three minutes old.

If the Eagles win they will return home for game six on Sunday afternoon.

If Drumheller wins they will advance to meet the Brooks Bandits in the South Finals.

In the North Spruce Grove and Sherwood Park are all even at two games apiece, with both teams winning their two games on the road.

The Spruce Grove Saints who lost all of three times at home in the regular season will be looking for their first home win of the post season.

Sherwood Park had Spruce Grove right where they wanted them on Monday.

The Crusaders held a 2-0 series lead with the next two games at home, but it was the Saints who dominated most of the play and are back home with the series now a best of three.

The key for the Crusaders will be to stay out of the penalty box as the Saints have scored eight of their ten goals in the series on the power play.

Sherwood Park is 4-1 in the post season when they score first, while the Saints are 1-0 when scoring first.
Game six of the series will go Sunday night in Sherwood Park.
