The Drayton Valley Thunder Hockey Club is seeking a full-time Head Coach to start immediately and lead the team for the 2017-2018 AJHL season. The ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years coaching experience. The Head Coach will work directly with the Hockey Operations Committee of the Board of Directors and will be responsible for supervision of the coaching and training staff.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Coach and mentor players to enhance a culture of development and achievement
- Coach game, develop practice plans and implement systems and game concepts
- Oversee off ice training program; video analysis and game breakdown
- Ability to recruit, negotiate player trades and develop and advance players
The successful candidate must be detail oriented and follow through on commitments; must possess a strong work ethic; must be willing to travel and manage team scheduled games and off ice activities. Work effectively with a highly engaged team of volunteers and board members to achieve desired goal. Must be High Performance 1 certified.
