The Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are excited to advise that forward Daine DUBOIS has committed to attend and play for the Long Island University SHARKS. Dubois played 130 games over two seasons for the Pontiacs, amassing 52 goals and 72 assists along with 214 PIMS.
The SHARKS will play their inaugural season in Brookville, NY as the newest NCAA Division I program under head coach Brett RILEY. LIU, founded in 1926, continues to redefine higher education through innovative programs, prestigious faculty, experiential learning opportunities, and cutting-edge research. Recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Best National University, and Forbes for its emphasis on experiential learning, LIU offers more than 350 academic programs, with a network of over 265,000 alumni including industry leaders and entrepreneurs across the globe.
Daine DUBOIS was an alternate captain for the PONTIACS and was selected for Team AJHL to play in the 2019 Junior Club World Cup in Sochi, Russia.
Daine is a point per game player in the AJHL and has been a proven scorer at every level he has played. He is a 200 foot, power forward who ran the PONTIACS power play scoring 26 points during the season on that special team. Coach RILEY is getting a culture enhancer, leader and player that plays the right way. Daine is extremely deserving of this commitment and the Bonnyville PONTIACS could not be more happy for his recognition.
“I am so grateful to the Bonnyville PONTIACS for the past two seasons and am so thankful for the entire staff as I wouldnt be where I am today without them”, says DUBOIS. “I am looking forward to being a SHARK and help Long Island University become a model Division I hockey program in the NCAA.”
Daine DUBOIS is the 79th PONTIAC to move on to the collegiate level since 2013/14.
