The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is AJHL leading scorer Justin Dumais with seven points (4G, 3A) in three games from January 19th-25th, 2026.
The Oil Barons forward led his team to a 6-5 overtime win versus the Calgary Canucks at the 2026 AJHL Showcase with three points (2G, 1A), including his fifth game winning goal of the season. Dumais was rewarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game. Dumais (2006) scored a goal in a 4-3 loss to the division-leading Whitecourt Wolverines on January 24th and in a rematch the following night, he recorded a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win.
The second year Oil Baron leads the AJHL with 65 points (23G, 42A) in 42 games. This is his second Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week award of the 2025-26 season.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Taynton Lavender of the Drayton Valley Thunder. The 2006-born defenceman leads the Thunder with 32 points in 29 games played after adding six points (1G, 5A) in his last three games.
The Thunder battled to a one-goal game in three match ups versus teams at the top of the AJHL standings last week. Lavender and the Thunder played the Grande Prairie Storm to a 5-4 overtime loss at the AJHL Showcase on January 21st. He was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game with a goal and two assists. On January 24th, the Thunder met the highly offensive Canmore Eagles and fell 3-2 with Lavender picking up an assist. He would once again be selected as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game on January 25th with two assists in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Camrose Kodiaks.
Lavender was previously selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week in October 2025.
Olds Grizzlys forward Jordin St Louis (Portland Winterhawks) is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week after extending his active point streak to five games with five points through three games last week.
St Louis (2009) added an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Lloydminster Bobcats to open the 2026 AJHL Showcase. The Airdrie, AB rookie collected two assists in a 5-2 road win over the Drumheller Dragons on January 23rd and repeated his performance with two assists in a 5-2 loss to the Dragons in the rematch on January 25th.
St Louis is third in AJHL rookie scoring with 29 points (13G, 16A) over 36 regular season games.
