Evening of Champions – ‘The Hound Line’ Trio Coming To Town

The Lloydminster Bobcats are once again hosting the formal event ‘An Evening of Champions’ on Thursday, September 6th, at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds.

Toronto Maple Leafs greats Wendel Clark, Russ Courtnall and Gary Leeman will be headlining the event as the evening’s keynote speakers. The three former Notre Dame Hounds played together on a line for the Maple Leafs throughout the 1980’s.

“We are very pleased with this year’s speaker line-up,” said Bobcats Business Manager Malcolm Radke, “each of these NHL alumni have ties to Saskatchewan and enjoyed long, successful hockey careers that should translate into great presentations.”

In it’s eight year, ‘An Evening of Champions’ is the Bobcats’ largest annual fundraiser. The formal evening initially started in 2005 to raise funds to go towards the creation of the Servus Sports Centre. The event signifies the beginning of hockey season in Lloydminster. This year’s major sponsors are Investor’s Group Miles Schiller, Quik Pick Waste Disposal, Range One Oilfield, andMike’s Oilfield Services. The event also includes auctions and raffles for sporting and leisure events across the continent.

“We cannot thank our community enough for the support it has shown us,” said Radke, “building on the success of last season, this event marks the unofficial kickoff to what should be an exciting year under new head coach Ryan Parent.”

Cost of the function, which will run from 5:30pm – 11pm, is $800 per 8-person table, or $125 per individual.
