Fink, Mackenzie and Beaudoin Receive AJHL Weekly Awards

For the second time this season, Brooks Bandits forward Aiden Fink has been selected as the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week.  The AJHL leading scorer recorded nine points (4G, 5A) from November 14^th-20^th, 2022 in four wins for the Bandits.

Fink (Calgary, AB) contributed two assists in a 7-1 win over the Calgary Canucks on November 16^th, then scored two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win versus the Olds Grizzlys on November 18^th.  The 2004-born Bandit recorded a four-point game, including two goals and two assists, along with his third game winning goal of the season on November 19^th against the Blackfalds Bulldogs.  Fink was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in the victory.

Aiden is committed to the University of Wisconsin (NCAA) and currently leads the AJHL with 60 points (24G, 26A).  The Bandits have a strong hold on first place in the Viterra AJHL South Division as they approach the halfway point of the season with a record of 25-1-1-1.

Goaltender Connor Mackenzie of the Grande Prairie Storm is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.  Connor posted a 2-0 record for the Storm, allowing only three goals against, and recording a win over the division leading Spruce Grove Saints.

Mackenzie (2002) opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over the Camrose Kodiaks and 37 saves.  On Saturday, November 19^th, Connor made 51 saves to defeat the Spruce Grove Saints 2-1.

Connor Mackenzie (Toronto, ON) is second overall among AJHL netminders with a .931 save percentage and seventh in the category of goals against average at 2.95.

Nicolas Beaudoin of the Bonnyville Pontiacs is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week after being recognized as the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week last week.  The 2004-born forward scored two goals and six points (2G, 4A) in three games.

Beaudoin (St Paul, AB) added two assists in a 7-4 win versus the Whitecourt Wolverines on November 16^th, but was held off the scoresheet on November 18^th in a 6-2 loss to the Sherwood Park Crusaders.  Nicolas rebounded with his second four-point game of November as the Wolverines defeated the Drayton Valley Thunder 7-2 on November 19^th.  With two goals and two assists in the win, Beaudoin has now recorded four two-goal games in November.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks commit is third in rookie scoring with 32 points (18G, 14A) and has the most goals of all AJHL rookies.  Beaudoin was previously recognized as the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week in October 2022.
