Five AJHL Teams Included in CJHL Weekly Rankings

CALGARY, Alberta – The Penticton Vees of the BCHL continue to roll at number one this week, following a thrilling overtime victory over the Nanaimo Clippers this past weekend. Changes to the Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings continue as all leaders in each respective league are seeing their closest pursuers tighten up the standings across the member leagues of the CJHL.

Aside from BCHL’s Penticton Vees and their current 19-game winning streak, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and the Wenatchee Wild are leading a pack of five teams just four points out of second place overall in BC.

The AJHL’s Lloydminster Bobcats had a small set back this week, and the Spruce Grove Saints have snuck into a tie with the Bobcats at the top of overall standings in the AJHL.

The Melfort Mustangs, Weyburn Red Wings and the Battlefords North Stars take up the top spots in the SJHL, while the Portage Terriers and Winkler Flyers continue to set the standard high in the MJHL.

The Fort Frances Lakers in the Superior International Junior Hockey League continue their hold on first place in that league, while the Soo Thunderbirds, Powassan Voodoos and the Cochrane Crunch continue to lead the NOJHL in the standings.

The Trenton Golden Hawks have rebounded nicely to hold first place overall in the OJHL, while the Kingston Voyageurs, and Georgetown Raiders are following closely behind, but are being pursued by at least five other teams in the OJHL.

The Carleton Place Canadians remain on top of the standings in the CCHL, but the fast charging Ottawa Jr. ‘A’ have snatched up first place in the Yzerman Division .

There is a tough battle going on in the QJHL between the College Francais de Longueuil, the Montagnards de Sainte-Agathe and the Cobras de Terrebonne, while the Summerside Western Capitals have taken the lead in overall wins in regulation in a very even and well balanced tough MHL.
