The 2015-16 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) champion Brooks Bandits have finalized their front office staff for the 2016-17 season, hiring Mark Printz (Calgary, AB) as the organization’s new Manager of Marketing & Community Relations, promoting Terri-Lea Yeaman (Brooks, AB) to the position of Office Manager, and extending Tyler King (Brooks, AB) as Manager of Communications.
In his new position, Printz will oversee sponsorship sales and servicing, corporate partnerships, team events, and overall community relations.
“Mark stood out to us as the right person for the job due to his positivity and energy for the position,” said Bandits General Manager Ryan Papaioannou. “He has a passion for the game which will undoubtedly go a long way in securing future partnerships within our business community.
“He will work alongside Terri-Lea and Tyler to round out our off ice operation, and we couldn’t be positioned any better off the ice for the upcoming season,” he noted.
“Mark has revealed a passioned enthusiasm for a career in hockey,” added Bandits President Paul Seaton. “We believe he has the qualities, capability and commitment necessary to make a positive contribution.”
A graduate of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary in both Television Media and Business Administration, Printz most recently served in the position of Marketing Coordinator for Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall, one of Calgary’s longest-standing bar and restaurants. Originally from Olds, Printz holds several existing connections to the AJHL, from growing up watching the local Grizzlys team, to his brother, Brett, having played in the league for Drumheller, Olds, Fort McMurray, and Grande Prairie.
“I'm looking forward to being a part of the Brooks Bandits organization,” said Printz. “They have a winning team with a winning culture like no other, and I can't thank the management and organization enough for giving me this opportunity to work for the team.
“I am looking forward to the challenge and the opportunities that lie ahead this season,” he added.
Printz will begin work in the Bandits’ office later this week, and is eager to connect with existing and new Bandit partners; he is reachable by email at mark@brooksbandits.ca, and by phone at (403) 501-0122 or (403) 363-5859.
Yeaman enters her third year in the Bandits’ front office, having originally joined in the 2014 off-season as the team’s first Administrative & Accounting Assistant. This will be her first season in the role of Office Manager.
“Terri-Lea came to us two years ago in a small role that has grown exponentially over the last 24 months,” said Papaioannou. “Her ability to meet timelines and take on more than her required workload has made her an invaluable part of the organization, and her new position will allow her to become more involved in an official capacity, bringing synergy to the off-ice operations.”
King enters his second year as the team’s Manager of Communications, handling game-day operations, digital and social media, media relations, and broadcasting.
“Tyler joined us last season and did a fantastic job growing the brand of the Brooks Bandits,” said Papaioannou. “His ability to network in the media world gave us a reach that is unmatched at this level. Tyler has a bright future with us and plenty of ideas to keep our operations moving forward.”
