The Sherwood Park Crusaders were unable to complete the sweep in Game Three of the Best of Five Viterra North Division Quarter Final Sunday night against the Bonnyville Pontiacs, losing 5-2. Four unanswered goals, three of them in the second period propelled the Pontiacs to their first win of the series and forcing a Game Four Monday night in Sherwood Park at 7pm.
While it was not a do-or-die game for the Canmore Eagles, Sunday afternoon's playoff game against the Drumheller Dragons was a game they knew they couldn't afford to lose. To that end, Canmore's big line of Matt Forchuk, Logan Ferguson and Lane Olson delivered maybe their best performance since being reunited in the second half of the season and led their team to an impressive 5-3 win. The victory gives Canmore a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Game 4 is Monday at 7pm in Drumheller.
