The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Myles Gauld of the Bonnyville Pontiacs. With five points (4G, 1A) and a hat trick, the 2004-born forward extended his active point streak to six games and helped the Pontiacs to back to back wins last week.
Gauld (Calgary, AB) scored a goal and an assist on October 25th as the Pontiacs defeated the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-2. Myles then led the charge on October 27th with a hat trick and the game winner in a 7-1 decision over the Devon Xtreme. He was selected as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game in the road victory.
Since rejoining Bonnyville at the start of October, Gauld has recorded 10 points (5G, 5A) in nine games.
Xavier Lacoste of the Whitecourt Wolverines is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for October 21st-27th, 2024. Lacoste recorded four points in three wins last week and currently leads all AJHL defencemen with 13 points.
The second-year Wolverine blueliner posted an assist on October 23rd in a 5-2 road win over the Devon Xtreme, added another in a 5-1 home win against the Calgary Canucks on October 26th, and closed the week with two assists in a 5-3 victory versus the Drumheller Dragons at home on October 27th.
Xavier Lacoste (2005) is enjoying a five-game point streak, totaling seven points, alongside the team’s seven game win streak. The Whitecourt Wolverines are second in the Viterra AJHL North Division with a record of 11-3-0-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL).
The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is Grande Prairie Storm forward Alec Hall. The 2006-born rookie scored two goals and recorded five points in two Storm wins, including an OT game winning goal.
Alec Hall was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game on October 25th with a three-point night versus the Drumheller Dragons. Hall scored the opening goal of the game and two assists in a 7-2 home victory. The following night, he was the overtime hero and added an assist in a 4-3 final over the Dragons.
Hall is 12th among AJHL rookies with 10 points (5G, 5A) in 14 games played. The Storm are first overall in the Viterra AJHL North Division (11-1-1-1) and have went seven consecutive games without a regulation loss.
