Gawlicki Commits to the Concordia University Thunder

The Bonnyville PONTIACS are proud to announce that PONTIAC captain Charlie GAWLICKI has committed to the ACAC Concordia University Thunder for the 2018/19 season.

“Charlie played three seasons for the PONTIACS from 2015 to 2018 playing 171 games. Charlie is a great leader, a culture enhancer and an exceptional person. Seeing him receive this opportunity is so deserving and Coach GLEGLOFF is getting himself a high end competitor who will instantly make the Thunder program better,” says Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN.

“Charlie is of high character on and off the ice. He plays hard and practices even harder. He is also an exceptional young man and does everything in his life to the very best of his ability. He was a key contributor on the PONTIACS penalty kill; he played hard against the other team’s top players and was on the ice in all important defensive and offensive situations…he simply “plays the game the right way.”

Charlie GAWLICKI was awarded the PONTIAC President’s Trophy this past season as the player who best represents his team to the community through his character, positive attitude, dedication, leadership and sportsmanship.

The Bonnyville PONTIACS organization, the fans of the PONTIACS and our community are extremely excited for Charlie's next chapter in his academic and hockey journey.

Charlie GAWLICKI becomes the 52nd Bonnyville PONTIAC to have played in our organization to commit to College level since 2014.
