The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce defenceman Connor Gengle’s commitment to Lindenwood University (NCAA, Div. 1).
Gengle’s commitment marks the 15th Crusaders player on this year’s team to earn a post-secondary scholarship.
“I’m very proud and excited to announce my commitment to play Division I college hockey at the University of Lindenwood,” commented Gengle on his commitment. “I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for helping me get to this point.”
“Since Connor arrived here in Sherwood Park we’ve witnessed an incredible ascent in his game,” commented Crusaders head coach Brennan Menard. “He is a transition defender, and always attacking which is a great fit for the Crusaders’ style of play. The best is yet to come for Connor and we’re excited to see his game continue to grow before moving on to the next level.”
Gengle (’05) is currently in his first AJHL season, collecting a total of 24 points (4 goals, 20 assists) in 35 games. Prior to joining the Crusaders, Gengle played for the Mount St. Charles Academy U18 program, collecting 23 points (2 goals, 21 assists) in 53 games.
