GIANGUALANO, NELSON AND RIEDEL SELECTED FOR AJHL WEEKLY AWARDS

The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Olds Grizzlys forward Sam Giangualano after scoring six goals in two games last week. The 19 year-old from Calgary, AB recorded a hat trick in back-to-back games and was selected as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game in both contests.

On November 7th, Sam scored the game winning goal amongst his trio of goals in a 5-3 home win over the division leading Calgary Canucks. His third goal on November 8th would send the game to overtime and an eventual 6-5 loss to the visiting Grande Prairie Storm. Giangualano leads the Grizzlys with 19 points (10G, 9A) in 18 regular season games.

For the third time in the 2025-26 season, goaltender Noah Nelson has been selected as the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. The 2005-born goaltender posted two wins from November 3rd-9th to keep the Calgary Canucks at the top of the Bunge AJHL South Division.

Noah Nelson (Calgary, AB) allowed just one goal against the Grande Prairie Storm in a 4-1 win on November 4th and was rewarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game. On November 8th, Nelson made 31 saves to defeat the Fort McMurray Oil Barons 5-4.

Nelson is second overall in the AJHL with a .921 save percentage and ranks third with a 2.60 GAA.

Forward Ryder Riedel is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week with four points (1G, 3A) in a three-game homestand for the Olds Grizzlys.

Reidel (Didsbury, AB) extended his four-game point streak with a goal in a 6-3 loss versus the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on November 5th and was recognized as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game. The 18 year-old picked up two assists in a 5-3 win over the Calgary Canucks to start the weekend and an assist in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Grande Prairie Storm on November 8th.  Ryder has five points in four games played this season.
