It’s been a tale of two goalies thus far in the AJHL first-round playoff series between the Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Grande Prairie Storm.
And because the Crusaders’ Matt Tompkins and the Storm’s Nick Kulmanovsky have been so stingy in the first two games of the best-of-five set, getting that first goal is key, says Sherwood Park head coach Tim Fragle.
“We didn’t cash in on our early opportunities (in Game 2) and they got a power play goal. That kind of changed the momentum a little bit,” Engle said of his team’s first-period play on Wednesday in Game 2, in which the Crusaders came on strong early but were unable to solve goalie Kulmanovsky.
