Grizzlys Are Not Moving; AJHL Team Listens To Ideas For Financial Sustainability

Dozens Of Fans & Supporters Turned Out For A Town Hall Meeting Held By The Olds Grizzlys On April 29th At The Legion. Total Debt Right Now For The Local Alberta Junior Hockey League Club Is About $120,000 But The Organization Believes Engaging Alumni & The Community Has It Heading In The Right Direction.

'The Olds Grizzlys are not moving' was one of the first messages from Interim President Jim Ross at the town hall meeting.

Mayor Judy Dahl saw the kind of support from the community that she always believed the local AJHL club had.

The sentiment from the audience that these types of gatherings would be beneficial for the Black & Gold to have twice a year was shared by the Mayor. She believes everything shared at the meeting is negotiable, including some potential viewing improvements for fans at the SportsComplex.

The best thing for her coming out of the meeting was clearing up misconceptions, including who owns the Grizzlys. She wants the taxpayers to know it is not owned by the town, but rather it is a community run franchise.
