Grizzlys Hire Alumnus as New Business Manager

The Olds Grizzlys are pleased to announce that Rob Turville has been hired as the new Business Operations Manager beginning immediately.

Rob is coming back to the Grizzlys’ organization after playing with the Grizz from 2002-04. He will join former teammate Brett Hopfe, who will commence his first full year as Head Coach.

“It is great to see our alumni come back to the organization to lead us into the future,” said Grizzly President Jim Ross. “Rob has an outstanding background in business and leadership and we expect him to lead us forward for the next number of years.”

Following a University hockey career at University of Wisconsin Superior, Rob moved back to Olds and has been most recently employed as a Junior Accountant at a firm in Red Deer.

Rob states that growing up in Olds he always idolized the Grizzlys and that being able to combine his business skills with a career in hockey is a dream come true. “I am extremely passionate about hockey and have always wanted to be involved in the hockey world one way or another.”

He comes highly recommended by his coach at University of Wisconsin Superior Dan Stauber, “Rob was an unbelievable leader and I knew right away after meeting him that he would one day be our captain.” Turville ended up being captain for two years.

“I couldn’t be happier for Rob and the organization,” stated Hopfe. “I am really looking forward to working with him.”
