The Olds Grizzlys have named hometown '97 forward Chase Olsen as their captain for the 2016-2017 hockey season.
“After having a phenomenal season on the ice last year, leading all rookies in scoring as well as finishing second in the league behind line mate Wyatt Noskey, Chase has proved his ability on the ice,” stated Head Coach Dana Lattery. “What Chase also proved last season was his ability to be a leader and a difference maker in our community, without having a letter on his chest. He is an extremely bright young man and a very magnetic person, who people are naturally attracted to. Chase puts his teammates first and lives to serve others. These were all extremely important to me in choosing a Captain. These character traits are what parallel who we are here as Olds Grizzlys and magnifies our culture as a community and hockey program. This is the kind of young man that you build your program around and I know having Jack Goranson as his Captain last year will give Chase a great start on the Captaincy.”
