The Olds Grizzlys are proud to announce that third year forward Noah Hackett has committed to Niagara University for the 2022-2023 season. Niagara University is located in Lewiston, New York and the Purple Eagles are a NCAA Division I Program.
Hackett has improved steadily throughout his tenure at Olds, however this season has seen him take his game to a whole new level. The 20-year-old had amassed 21 goals and 46 points in 69 career games coming into the 2021-2022 AJHL season. This season has seen the 6’2″ 195 pounder’s production skyrocket to 21 goals and 17 assists for 38 points in 24 games to date. In addition, heading into week ten of league competition Hackett has been named AJHL Player of the Week twice.
Head Coach Scott Atkinson had high praise for Hackett commenting. “I’m really proud of Noah’s accomplishments over the time I have known him. Noah has always had great offensive instincts, and this year has certainly been a step forward in that department, but what I’m most pleased about is his growth in other areas. He’s developed into a player who plays in all situations, and perhaps most significantly he wears the ‘C’ for us and has become an exceptional leader. He has worked very hard to get better, it’s nice to see him get rewarded.”
Hackett had this to say about his time as a Grizzly, “I’ve had a great experience both on and off the ice in Olds. The whole organization has been nothing but professional and I would like to thank the coaching staff for all the opportunities they have provided me. I would also like to thank my teammates for pushing me to get better every day and my billet family the Tookeys for making Olds a second home for me.”
The entire Grizzlys organization would like to congratulate Noah and his family on his accomplishment.
