HALYK COMMITS TO UNIVERSITY OF DENVER

Camrose, AB – The Camrose Kodiaks are very excited to announce that Freddie Halyk has committed to Denver University (NCAA Div. I).

Freddie joined the Kodiaks at the start of January through a trade that involved two other teams. Halyk has played to a .920 SV% while with the Kodiaks and a 7-4 record.

Kodiaks Head Coach Clayton Jardine says, “In the short amount of time that I have known Freddie, it has been a pleasure. Freddie is a very mature, hard working, and driven athlete. He takes care of himself on a day to day basis and puts in the work that needs to be done. He handles himself like a pro and is a great communicator.
The Pioneers are getting a great hockey player but more importantly, a great person.”

Freddie adds, “I am proud and honoured to announce my commitment to play Division I hockey and further my education at the University of Denver. Thank you to my friends, teammates, billets and family who have shaped me into the player and person I am today. Huge thank you to the Camrose Kodiaks organization and
all the great coaches I’ve had over the years.”

Freddie joins other Kodiaks alumni TJ Fast (2005) Jon Cook (2007) Joe Colborne (2008) and Shawn Ostrow (2009) as Kodiaks that chose to further their playing career at the University of Denver.

The Kodiaks organization would like to congratulate Freddie, his family, and his billet family on his commitment!
