Will Harris of the Grande Prairie Storm is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week with four points (2G, 2A) in two wins while extending his active point streak to four games.
Harris (Okotoks, AB) and the Storm started a weekend double header in Olds with a 5-2 win on November 1st. He was named the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game after recording two goals and an assist, including a powerplay marker. The 2005-born forward added his eighth assist of the season on November 2nd as the Storm defeated the Grizzlys 3-2.
In his second season with the Storm, and first as a forward, Harris is tied for 11th in AJHL scoring with 16 points (8G, 8A). The Storm lead the Canalta Hotels AJHL Standings with a record of 13-1-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) and are tied with the Calgary Canucks for most goals scored (69).
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Storm teammate Keagin Kelln. The rookie goaltender led his hometown team to two consecutive road wins and has won his last three starts. Kelln posted a .927 save percentage in the weekend match ups versus the Olds Grizzlys and recorded 51 saves.
Keagin Kelln (2006) is fifth overall in the AJHL with a 2.23 GAA and sixth among all AJHL goaltenders with a .922 SV%. The Storm are tied with the Whitecourt Wolverines for fewest goals against (35).
Drumheller Dragons forward Ellis Mieyette is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for October 28th-November 3rd, 2024. In a weekend split versus the Drayton Valley Thunder, the Dragons leading scorer recorded four points (1G, 3A).
Mieyette (2006) is second in the AJHL Scoring Race and leads all rookies with 21 points (5G, 16A). This is his second Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week award of the season.
In October, Ellis Mieyette was identified on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List ahead of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The list is a compilation of draft-eligible prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe.
