The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) will have lots of former Dragons.
Forward Hunter Mills announced on Tuesday, July 21, he has been accepted into the Business Admin Degree program at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in his hometown of Calgary, where he'll play for the Trojans.
“It feels good, definitely nice to get all of this out of the way and get prepared for the fall,” he said.
“Especially with SAIT, I'm really happy.”
Mills is building towards a Financial Services degree. He's also been offered a position as an instructor with the SAIT Summer Hockey School in August.
The 20-year-old played three season with the Dragons, scoring 46 goals, 48 assists and adding 283 penalty minutes in 132 games.
A fan favourite for three seasons in Drumheller, Mills had 10 goals to go with 12 assists in 28 playoff games, and in 2015 was named the Top Playoff Performer for the Dragons with five goals and four assists in eight games. In the 2013-2014 season, he won the team award for Most Improved.
