Kalinski Commits to University of Lethbridge

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to announce that 20-year-old graduate forward, Devon Kalinski (La Corey, Alberta) has committed to attend the University of Lethbridge commencing the fall 2011.

The 5’11” 185 pound Kalinski joined the Pontiacs in 2008-2009 after spending the previous two seasons in the Western Hockey League where he appeared in 120 games between the Calgary Hitmen and Kamloops Blazers. In the AJHL, Kalinski quickly established himself as one the league’s top two way players. The two year Assistant Captain appeared in 153 career games while collecting 125 points (53 goals, 72 assists) and 362 penalty minutes. He was recognized as the Pontiacs Top Defensive Forward (2010), Pontiacs Top Scorer (2011), Pontiacs Most Valuable Player (2011), and was named to the AJHL North All-League Team (2011).

The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns (CIS) play in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association. Devon becomes the sixth Pontiac from the 2010-2011 team to commit to a post-secondary institution in order to combine academics and athletics.
