The Olds Grizzlys are pleased to announce that assistant captain Landon Kletke has accepted an offer to play for the Red Deer College Kings starting 2016-2017. Landon is a 4 year player for the Olds Grizzlys, playing in 231 games scoring 60 goals and 84 assists for a total of 144 pts. Landon also amassed 597 pims in his four years as an Olds Grizzly.
“Landon was a cornerstone of our community and our team here in Olds. He came to the program in my second season and he has grown and developed every single season into the great hockey player he is today”, stated Head Coach Dana Lattery. “This opportunity for him to move on to the next level with Red Deer is a huge accomplishment for Landon. We, as an organization, are extremely proud of Landon in all of his accomplishments in the last 4 seasons with our program. He comes from a great family which our community will miss. We wish the best of luck to Landon as he continues his education and pursuit of his hockey dreams!”
Landon Kletke is also very excited for this opportunity, “I’m more than excited for the opportunity to continue my hockey dream in Red Deer. In the long run the decision came down to wanting to play close to home in front of friends and family. Red Deer is building a 90 million dollar facility on campus in the next couple years and I want to be a part of the team that moves in there. I’d like to thank Dana as well as my billet Al and Alison Caputo as if it weren’t for them giving me a chance to play in Olds, I wouldn’t have gotten this opportunity to continue to play.”
