The Lloydminster Jr. ‘A' Bobcats are proud to announce that 20 year old forward Dustin Lebrun has accepted a scholarship and is committed to play for the Red Deer College Kings Men’s Hockey Program. The Kings are set to join the Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the 2013-14 hockey season. Dustin, who was named an assistant captain, led the team in scoring in the 2012-13 season with 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points in 57 games.
The Coquitlam, BC, native was originally acquired by the Bobcats from the Sherwood Park Crusaders at the beginning of the 2012-13 season. Dustin spent two seasons with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL before being traded to the Sherwood Park Crusaders midway through 2011-12. Over his three year Jr. ‘A’ career, Dustin accumulated 41 goals and 40 assists for 81 points in 154 games played.
“It has been a pleasure to coach Dustin over the last year,” said assistant coach Kyle Tapp. “We as an organization are thankful for his devotion to our team and our community, and are very excited for him as he begins the next chapter of his hockey career.” The Bobcats organization would like to congratulate Dustin and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically. The Bobcats have now committed both graduating players from the team’s 2012-13 roster to post-secondary hockey programs.
