Ask any Canadian who Don Cherry is, and they’ll likely be able to quickly tell you he is the loud, proud, boisterous Hockey Night In Canada analyst with a closet full of tacky suits.
However, for a group of tourists that stopped at the Canmore Recreation Centre on Friday to learn about the game, the aforementioned indivuduals are of an unknown commodity.
In partnership with Canmore Business and Tourism, Andrew Milne, head coach and general manager of the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Canmore Eagles, is trying to change that.
Milne created a program to help drive tourists through the town and also to help grow the game of hockey. The program runs every Friday with 16 dates between May and September.
