Leiter Commits to University of Alaska-Fairbanks

The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce that Saints veteran, Colton Leiter, has committed to play for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks, a member of the NCAA Division I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).   Colton, a 3 year veteran, came to the Saints from the Canadian Athletic Club Midget AAA program where in his final midget season he scored 23 points while playing in all 34 regular season games.

To date, Colton has played in 119 regular season games, accumulating 29 goals, 36 assists for 65 points and 58 PIMS.  This year, Colton is having a breakthrough season totalling 18 goals, 16 assists for 34 points in 37 games. 

“Colton takes pride in his 200 foot game.  He has shown tremendous improvement in his three seasons here with us,” says Head Coach Jason McKee. “His work ethic has led him to be a reliable player for us every night.  We look forward to developing Colton further towards his departure to the NCAA.”

“I am very excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to further both my hockey career and academics at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.  I would like to thank my coaches Jason McKee and Mike Ringrose as well as the Saints organization for helping develop myself as a player and as a person over the past three seasons,” states Leiter.  “I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their support and for making it possible to have the opportunity I have today.”

The Saints organization would like to congratulate Colton and his family on this step in his career and wish him continued success moving forward both athletically and academically.
