Linaker Commits to Penn State

The St. Albert Steel are proud to announce that centre Reed Linaker has committed to the Pennsylvania State University for the 2012 – 13 season, when Penn State establishes it’s first year as NCAA Division 1 hockey program.
Linaker the 19-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta, played in 141 games for the St. Albert Steel from 2007-08 to 2010-11 seasons combined. In 2010 – 2011 season, Linaker played 34 games accumulating 52 points on 26 goals and 26 assists. In his 141 game junior career with the St. Albert Steel, the 5’9, 165 pound centre has tallied 173 points on 82 goals and 91 assists along with 336 minutes in penalties.
Reed is one of the first to receive a scholarship since the announcement of the new hockey program in September 2010. Linaker will complete his junior career with the St. Albert Steel in the 2011-12 season, before making the move to Pennsylvania.
