Local Referee Acknowledged for Years of Service

On Saturday evening at the Drumheller Dragons hockey game, Tyler Jensen, who has been an official for the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) for many years, was presented an award for his years of service.

Jensen, who has worn the stripes since he was 13 years old, was acknowledged by Curtis Nichols Vice President, Officials for the Alberta Junior Hockey League.   Jensen has worked with the AJHL for 19 seasons. He explains what made him follow the road to be a referee. “I started when I was 13 or 14. My Dad actually refed for a number of years in Drumheller and just followed in his footsteps, enjoyed it, and stuck with it.”
