The Drayton Valley Thunder are proud to announce that goaltender Luke Lush (1998) has committed to Sacred Heart University (NCAA Division I) for the 2019-2020 season.
“I couldn’t be happier for Luke on receiving a NCAA scholarship to Sacred Heart. His positive attitude and incredible work ethic took our team to the next level. We wish Luke nothing but the best moving forward, and we know he will be successful in whatever he takes on,” stated Thunder Head Coach / General Manager Eric Thurston.
Lush joined the Thunder early this season after coming over from the Camrose Kodiaks. Since joining the Thunder, Luke posted a .922 SV% in 41 regular season games before putting up a .946 SV% stat-line in 4 playoff games this year. This season, Luke was awarded the Friends of the Alberta Junior Hockey League Trophy as the league’s top goaltender and was a finalist for the AJHL’s Most Valuable Player. In addition, Luke was the recipient of two team trophies as the Thunder’s Most Valuable Player and Best Playoff Performance.
The Drayton Valley wish Luke and his family all the best moving forward and thank you for your unbridled dedication to the team this year.
