Goaltender Zac Onyskiw is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week with a 2-0 record and a shutout for the Whitecourt Wolverines.
Onyskiw (Edmonton, AB) made 24 saves as the Wolverines defeated the visiting Devon Xtreme 6-3 on October 9th. The win was Onyskiw’s second of the season over the AJHL’s newest franchise, which came in the form of a shutout on September 21st. On October 11th, the 2004-born goalie recorded his second shutout of the season with 30 saves and 3-0 final over the Drayton Valley Thunder.
The veteran AJHL goaltender currently leads all AJHL goalies in wins (6) and shutouts (2) and is tied for third with a .939 save percentage. The Wolverines are second in the Viterra AJHL North Division with a 6-3-0-1 record.
