Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team will be going for gold at this year’s world championship after shutting out Sweden 7-0 in Friday’s semifinal.
Lloydminster Bobcats goalie, Emerence Maschmeyer, earned her first international shutout in Tuesday’s game.
After settling for silver last year in Stockholm, Sweden, the Canadians will be hungry for gold when they take to the ice Saturday in the Czech Republic against long-time rivals the Americans in a battle for 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship bragging rights.
