The Grande Prairie Storm are pleased to announce that 20 year old Ryan Matthews has committed to SAIT in Calgary for the 2013-14 season.
Matthews, a 1992-born, 5’11”, 165 pound forward played in 56 games for the Storm this season, scoring 26 goals, and adding 20 assists with 117 penalty minutes. He added three goals and three assists in four playoff games for the Storm as well, being named the team’s Top Playoff Performer.
With his commitment to SAIT, Ryan will play for the SAIT Trojans in Calgary, Alberta under Head Coach Ken Babey.
“Ryan as the season progressed ended up being a huge part of our hockey team and was consistently one of our top players in each game,” said Storm Head Coach Blaine Bablitz. “He played the game hard, and scored a lot of key goals for us throughout the season. He was a joy to coach; as he has a love for the game that you could see each and everyday that he showed up at the rink. Ryan was named our Top Playoff Performer and will be a great addition to the SAIT program.”
