The Calgary Mustangs are pleased to announce that 17 year old forward Chase McMurphy has verbally committed to University of Alaska Fairbanks of the CCHA .
McMurphy, a 6’2″ 180 pound right shot winger, joined the Mustangs as a 16-year old in the 2010-2011 season, playing in 57 games and earning 10 goals and 22 assists. McMurphy also posted 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 playoff games . Last season McMurphy was also named to the AJHL All Rookie Team.
Based in Fairbanks, Alaska, the Alaska Nanooks play Division 1 in the NCAA’s CCHA Conference.
