The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to introduce their new play by play announcer, Michael Menzies.
Michael is a graduate of NAIT?s Radio & Television Arts Diploma program and worked as a commentator with the NAIT volleyball and basketball programs. In 2017, he broadcasted the CCAA Women?s Nationals Basketball Tournament at NAIT. While at NAIT he was also Senior Editor of the NAIT Nuggett student newspaper.
Michael joins the Pontiacs with considerable experience covering news and sports events throughout the Bonnyville / Lakeland district through his position as a reporter with Lakeland Connect. He has interviewed many of the players and staff of the Pontiacs and has helped with broadcasting and colour commentary on several occasions.
?It?s a pleasure to be the new voice of the Bonnyville Junior A Pontiacs. I?m excited for the hockey season to begin and to watch the Pontiacs compete against the best in the AJHL,? stated Menzie. “The Pontiacs set a franchise record for wins last year and are looking to build off of that success. It will be interesting to watch how this new team develops.?
