Murray and Pasichnuk Named in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings

NHL Central Scouting released its Midterm Rankings today with two AJHL Players making the list for the upcoming 2016 NHL Entry Draft.  Bonnyville Pontiacs defenceman Brinson Pasichnuk and Spruce Grove Saints goaltender Matthew Murray were included on the North American Skaters and North American Goaltenders list respectively.

Brinson Pasichnuk is in his second full season with the hometown Pontiacs.  He leads all AJHL defencemen in scoring with 46 points and 4 game winning goals.  Matthew Murray (St. Albert, AB) is a second year Saint.  Murray holds a record of 18-3-0 for the League leading Saints, and is among the top goaltenders in the AJHL for GAA, Save Percentage and Wins.

Pasichnuk and Murray will both participate in the CJHL Prospects Game scheduled for January 26th at the South Surrey Arena in Surrey, BC.  The CJHL Prospects Game was created to showcase the top NHL prospects in the CJHL as identified by NHL Central Scouting. The game features players from the CJHL's five western leagues competing against players from the CJHL's five eastern leagues.

The 2016 NHL Entry Draft will be held from June 24–25, 2016 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.
