Goaltender Matt Murray (Spruce Grove Saints) and defenceman Brinson Pasichnuk have been identified in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Murray is ranked #25 among North American Goaltenders while Pasichnuk is ranked #115 among North American Skaters.
Murray and Pasichnuk both climbed in the rankings since the mid-term report earlier this season, which had Murray at #27 and Pasichnuk at #147. Pasichnuk and Murray both participated in the CJHL Prospects Game in January 2016. The CJHL Prospects Game was created to showcase the top NHL prospects in the CJHL as identified by NHL Central Scouting.
A total of 83 players have been drafted directly out of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in its 52 year history.
