Obernesser Identified in NHL Central Scouting Rankings

Twelve players from the Canadian Junior Hockey League have been identified in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The top ranked player is Joel Lowry of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), ranked 95th overall amongst all North American skaters.

The list includes 6 players from the BCHL, 4 from the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), and one from the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). The final rankings include the top 210 skaters and 30 goaltenders in North America as well as the top 140 skaters and 10 goaltenders from Europe.

2011 NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings: Skaters Goaltenders

The 2011 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 24-25 in St. Paul, Minnesota. It will be the first time the Draft has been held in the state of Minnesota since the Minnesota North Stars hosted the 1989 NHL Entry Draft

Eleven Canadian Junior Hockey League players were selected in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In 2007, Kyle Turris of the BCHL’s Burnaby Express was selected 3rd and remains the highest ever draft selection from the CJHL.
