Eighteen seconds may not seem like much time, but that was all it took to change several weeks of plans for the Spruce Grove Saints.
The Saints were hanging on to a 2-1 lead against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the third period of Game 7 of the Alberta Junior Hockey League North Division final on Tuesday. Many of the 1,483 fans in the Grant Fuhr Arena were envisioning the Saints making a third consecutive run at the league championship.
Many were likely planning to follow the Saints down south to Brooks to face the Bandits for the Enerflex Cup.
