Oiler Mitch Collett Commits To Holy Cross

The Okotoks Oilers are pleased to announce that Mitch Collett has committed to play for the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders in the Fall of 2015.  Holy Cross is located in Worcester, Massachusetts and plays in the NCAA Division 1 Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Conference.

Collett, a 19-year old forward from Calgary, AB played three seasons for the Okotoks Oilers recording 26 goals and 87 points in 164 career AJHL games played.  

Mitch Collett is the 7th player from the 2014-2015 Oilers committed to a NCAA post-secondary hockey program joining Rhett Gardner (North Dakota), Nic Renyard (UMass), Tanner Ockey (Colorado College), Ambrose Firkus (Alaska Fairbanks), Phelan Shaw (Minnesota Duluth), and Stephan Doane (Wisconsin Stout).

“We would like to congratulate Mitch and his family on committing to Holy Cross,” stated Head Coach James Poole.  “Mitch was not only a great contributor on the ice for the Oilers, but was also a great ambassador for the Oilers hockey program in the community of Okotoks.  Mitch took a big step forward this season to becoming an impact hockey player night in and night out and was a big part of the Oilers success over the last three seasons.  He is an elite level player with top end speed and exceptional compete level at both ends of the rink that will be a very positive influence to the Holy Cross Crusaders hockey program.  The entire Oilers organization would like to wish Mitch all the best in his future hockey and academic endeavors”
