Oilers Announce Team Captains

The Okotoks Oilers are proud to officially announce Robbie Fisher as team captain for the 2013 – 2014 season.  Fisher is going into his third season with the Oilers with 114 games played, recording 39 goals and 68 points.

“Robbie has been the ultimate team player since he arrived in Okotoks three season ago and we are extremely proud to have Robbie as our team captain” states Head Coach James Poole.   “Robbie came to the Oilers as a defenseman from Kenora Midget AAA and got off to a rough start in his first month.  Instead of looking for opportunities elsewhere, Robbie chose to remain an Oiler and convert to forward.  Through hard work, passion and a team first attitude, Robbie has become an integral part of the Oilers success over the past few seasons.  Quite often the first to arrive at the rink and last to leave, Robbie is a great example to our younger players that hard work and dedication will lead to success.  Off the ice, Robbie represents the Oilers with pride and is a great ambassador to the Oilers program around the community.”

In addition, Tariq Hammond, Connor Hartley and Jordan Swenson will serve as Alternate Captains for the 2013-2014 season.

“Along with Robbie; Tariq, Connor and Jordan have been instrumental in helping to instil a culture that will lead to success in Okotoks,” states Head Coach James Poole.  “All four players are going into their third seasons with the Oilers and have shown the commitment, character and compete level that has now become the trademark for Oiler hockey teams. The entire organization is proud to have these players as captains and is confident they will help lead the Oilers to their most successful season in franchise history. ”
