Goaltender Zac Onyskiw has chosen to join the MacEwan Griffins who play in the Canada West Division within the USports Conference. From Edmonton, AB, the 6’0 goalie will be joining a program next season that made the playoffs but were recently eliminated in the first round by UBC.
Currently Zac leads the AJHL in wins, SV% and GAA and is putting up career highs numbers this season. For his career (96GP), Zac is 62-22-10 with a .922 SV% and 2.22 GAA to go along with 10 shutouts.
“Zac has been our rock since he has joined us, his professionalism and focus to his position is admirable,” stated Wolverines GM & Head Coach Shawn Martin.
“He has continued a long running tradition of the Wolverines developing top tier goalies and cannot wait to see what he accomplishes at the next level,” added Martin.
Zac had this to say about the commitment, “I am excited to announce that I will be joining the Griffins next season. It’s a great opportunity to be part of a team that values hard work and dedication. I am eager for what’s ahead and proud to be part of the Griffins.”
